We are fortunate to have several fun pumkin patches locally. Though not the largest, I always enjoy going to Grandpa’s Barn first. Who can resist baby chicks, kittens, ducklings, and bunnies, all of which the children are able to pet (with adult supervision). Grandpa’s Barn is open every day of the week during October, from 9am to sundown. Also, you can get a pass to come by anytime for the inexpensive equivalent of two visits. That paid for itself today when I only had the patience to take the kids through the barn and the pumkin patch, not the hay-bale maze. “We can come back tomorrow, or the next day…” seemed to satisfy the boys that they weren’t being cheated out of any fun. For me, its an hour or two diversion that I now have in my back pocket any time this month. Grandpa, you’re my kind of guy!
There are some great pumpkin patches and apple orchards here in Minnesota. I think the kids are finally old enough now to enjoy them – we best get on that, before we leave this state.
these kids are so cute to see…
