I recently took a fabulous camping trip at Grover Hot Springs. We were lucky enough to get invited by a mom who’s child went to the same summer camp as my son. She had already organized a group of families, most of whom had kids that my son had previously been aquainted with. All in all there were about eight kids, all under six years of age. We traded off watching the kids while the other parents went bike riding. I am dreaming of this kind of camping again, as the kids all played together so well.
We are here: eight kids, four adults, two dogs, and a fabulous hike ahead of us. My youngest was slower than the group, so this was often my view. I truly enjoyed watching the energy of the pack from behind, though. Such happy troupers.

I want to know that mom – is she looking for any friends? What a great way to take a trip like this. I’m a big believer in trying to travel in packs so that you aren’t hands-on with the kids 24-7.
I love the photo too – definitely dream-worthy.
Group camping is definitely more fun than just one family. Our first family camping trip we went with another family. I couldn’t imagine doing this on my our own. Like you said, it was nice to have other adults take turn watching kids. Plus kids have instant play mates so we didn’t even have to worry about entertaining them.
I’m dreaming along with you for our next group camping trip.
