In Davis there’s an opportunity to ride a double decker bus, which I’ve never seen a kid turn down. To get to the central station, park at the North Entry Parking structure located on Howard Way, just off of Russell Blvd. A parking permit may be purchased at the entry of the structure for $6.00, or you may park at the parking meters on the first level. The parking meters have a time limit of 2 hours and only take dimes and quarters.
Note: Parking is free on the weekends, unless there is a big event. You can call Transportation and Parking Services at 752-8277 to confirm parking enforcement schedules or visit their website.
From the entrance of the parking structure you can see a large roundabout where you can board the buses. Lines B and E have double deckers that arrive on the hour and leave at ten minutes past the hour. Lines F and G have double deckers that arrive at twenty five after the hour and leave ten minutes later. Double deckers only run weekdays, and they are free from the terminal. The routes are about 30 minutes long. Line B has the shortest route and line G tends to be the most crowded. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep, but you get a wonderful view particularly if you sit at the front. Schedules and routes can be found here.
